  • Simple Livers need support! The faces and comments of others make our chosen lifestyle more realistic, more do-able, more fun, more possible, more faithful.

Meet other Simple Livers around the country. Gerald Iversen has spoken to over 300 groups in over 40 states. The following blogs or travel journals are arranged in chronological order. You may want to read about what happened in your area. Find your state. Click on the appropriate year and then use the blog numbers. The city names are in bold.

All of the pictures in this journal are of real people I met on my travels. None are models or stock photos. The text is from notes I took on the spot. They're intentionally brief, pithy. To protect my hosts' privacy, I have abbreviated most last names.

This is a work in progress. Don't be surprised by a few weirdities. Yes, the style changes over time.

    We Care About Your Privacy.

If you want a specific COMMENT and/or PHOTO of yours removed, contact us with the details and we'll take care of it.

    What Is Simple Living Work!s?

Simple Living Works! is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that equips people of faith to challenge consumerism, live justly, and celebrate responsibly. Started in 1973 as a protest against the commercialization of Christmas, it encourages celebrations year-round that reflect conscientious ways of living.

Throughout its 40 years, it has helped lead the movement to live more simply and faithfully, and developed a wide variety of resources, best known resource is the Advent-Christmas annual Whose Birthday Is It, Anyway?

SLW! emphasizes relationships and traditions over things. . . to avoid stress and debt and to promote alternative giving - helping needy people instead of spending so much on ourselves.

SLW! sells nothing. It provides resources for children and adults on simpler living and related topics (such as hunger, the environment, media literacy, etc.) for Advent and Christmas, for Lent and Easter, for weddings and for year-round use - some in Spanish. For a free monthly eNews, subscribe at SimpleLivingWorks@Yahoo.com.

SLW! has an extensive website which includes hundreds of articles for personal inspiration and for editors to include in paper and electronic publications. Visit SimpleLivingWorks.org >> archives. To see SLW! new, extensive social media outreach, click Social Media in the top menu on most pages.
