Young Adults Spark Board of Directors
Five new board members were appointed at the fall meeting of Alternatives’ Board of Directors -- all of them young adults eager to reach out to other young adults with the message of joyful, simpler living.
- Sean Killakey is a French speaking ballroom dance instructor who does marketing work for an environmental firm in the Minneapolis area. He has been the coordinator of the Theology Pub at Spirit Garage.
- Chris Fels is a bass guitar player in one for Spirit Garage’s several worship bands. He has a long-standing fascination with race cars. He does direct mail marketing for Thrivent Financial for Lutherans in Minneapolis.
- Siri Dale serves as pastor of Discipleship Ministries at Trinity Lutheran Church, Stillwater, MN. A graduate of seminary in Claremont, Calif., she served in the Lutheran Service Corps.
- Leah Winter, a Roman Catholic and resident of Sioux City, is a sophomore at Morningside College, Sioux City.
- Jason Fileta, a recent graduate of Calvin College, Grand Rapids, now serves as the campus coordinator for the Social Justice Office of the Christian Reformed Church, focusing on the Micah Project, which promotes the Millennium goals of the United Nations.

Alternative New Years Resolutions
√ Send referrals! I will be proactive by sharing the names and contact information of anyone who shows interest in voluntary simplicity – church members, friends, relatives, colleagues. It’s much more likely to happen if I call toll free – 800-821-6153.
√ Becoming an active volunteer for Alternatives in my community.
√ Set a goal of pledging a Life membership, even if I fulfill the pledge over several years.
√ Lower my taxes through Alternatives’ Endowment
√ Send my ideas for the Young Adult initiative.
