We welcome requests for help from around the country. If you are willing to represent us, please be in touch. We provide you with materials, such as Simple Living 101, which contains a "flex talk" lasting from 15 minutes to an hour or more.
As part of our effort to increase person-to-person contact, we have established the Network. For example, a church may want to have an Alternative Celebrations Workshop. Free, detailed plans are given on this site. Or if a group wants a speaker, we offer free coaching service via the internet. See Activities to Try.
If you would consider joining Alternatives' Network, read Simple Living 101 and let us know. There's no cost to you. You can deduct your mileage from your income tax. Volunteers receive the monthly SLW! eNewsletter.
How to HOST the Network:
- Decide when, where and what you want your event to be about.
- See free coaching service under Activities to Try.
- Promote your event. We offer many tips in "Simple Living 101" and "Leader's Guide to 'Unplug the Christmas Machine' Workshop."
- After the event send us a brief report.
How to JOIN the network:
- Email SimpleLivingWorks@yahoo.com a message similar to this: ''I'm Sim Pulliver. My vox number is 1-234-567-8910 and my snail mail address is 987 Easy Street, Sustainersville, IA 55505. I am available to help spread the message of voluntary simple living in my community and as far as 150 miles away. I'm excited about what you are doing and understand the need to connect with others.'' Tell us about yourself and when, where and how you feel you'll fit in.
