Dear Friends,
Since my last Quarterly Living Lightly Blog Alert in Feb., the world has changed. Lent and Covid-19 came. Lent is over but my carefully planned commitments changed and I was transformed. The coronavirus, however, is not over. Whether your daily life has changed a lot or just in temporary superficial ways it prompts all of us to stop, think, and listen to what lessons may be hidden in this pandemic. This Quarter's Blog posts follow this rhythm.
Lent: 1st 2 Weeks of Justice - Review of how the first 2 weeks of Lent went according to my 5 point plan.
Covid-19 Changes Everything - By March 20 coronavirus cancellations started impacting me directly. I imagine that sooner or later this happened to you too.
Holy Week at Home - Not everyone follows a religious tradition, but for those who connect with a faith community, especially Christians, the beginning of April is steeped with communal worship services. Since physically gathering in a church, temple, or mosque was not possible, our culture experimented with how to take the essence of our spirituality and apply it at home. This is awkward at the least, but may hold the seeds of new ways of experiencing a sacred presence.
I Had a Plan - Looking back at Lent and the coronavirus that evolved at the same time, this is a reflection on 3 things I learned about myself and 3 questions it raises for all of us about the future.
Spend in order to Save - So getting back to the theme of this blog, Living Lightly, I reflect about how we live generously in a time of crisis.
I'm wondering how the past several months have changed your life? I welcome your reflections.
Fondly,
Susan
